Geri Susanto was born on Kiabu Island, the farthest inhabitant island in Anambas. He came from a simple family. His father worked as a fisherman who went fishing every day as a means to fulfill family needs. Coming from a simple upbringing, he learned to appreciate the hard work that his parents did in order to send him to school.
In 2010, he graduated from Madrasah Aliyah School and continued his education at one of the state universities in Tanjung Pinang. He took Sociology to learn about community life and social interaction. His dream is to develop Kiabu Village and realising it by opening up the minds of villagers to new ideas. As Kiabu Village Facilitator for the Foundation, he is responsible for monitoring the Integrated Waste Management programme’s implementation, and managing the Recycling Centre in Kiabu.
